I have exciting news! I am 1 of only 4 interior designers asked to create a space for the Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft exhibit at the American Craft Council's Annual American Craft Show happening this weekend at the Baltimore Convention Center!
This year’s Make Room theme is “4 Directions,” where designers transform a white, hard-wall space into a spectacular room vignette inspired by fine craft that demonstrates the essence of style in the North, South, East, or West.
Inspired by my appreciation for the craftsmanship, natural beauty, and function characterized by much of the design in the Eastern Hemisphere, specifically Africa, I selected "East" as my design direction for the Make Room exhibit.
The contrast of natural wood elements traditionally used against woven textiles, metallic sculptures, and exotic, vibrant color creates a timeless beauty and strength I seek to capture in my vignette.
I'll be using these 3 stunning pieces by artists Allegra Brelsford, Scott Nelles and Robert and Tor Erickson in my space.
It is truly an honor to be invited to participate in a live design exhibition!
I will be at the show this Friday through Sunday (February 19-21st), meeting people, discussing the space I created and checking out the country's best contemporary jewelry, clothing, furniture and home décor.
Thousands are expected to attend. I'd love for you to join me. If you're in town this weekend, please stop by and say HELLO!
